Monarch accused of bestiality was the spitting image of David Cameron (Pic)

By now, you’ve no doubt heard, read and (regrettably) mentally visualised what David Cameron allegedly did to a dead pig’s head.

But he’s not the only European ruler who’s ever been accused of having inappropriate relations with an animal. An 18th century monarch was the talk of the chattering classes for similar reasons.

Catherine the Great was famed for her very active libido, and there were even rumours at the time of her passing that she died in a failed attempt to get intimate with a stallion – as in an actual real-life horse.

Although the bestial gossip is thought to have been spread by her Polish foes of the time, the rumours stuck and became something of an urban legend.

But here’s a spooky coincidence – Catherine’s somewhat bloated features and ruddy complexion are strikingly similar to those of current #PigGate accusee David Cameron…
