British ex-UFC fighter seriously injured after allegedly ‘throwing himself into traffic’

UFC veteran Terry Etim is in a serious condition following a horror traffic incident in Liverpool.

31-year-old Etim was allegedly seen throwing himself against as many as four vehicles on East Prescot Road in Old Swan on Wednesday afternoon, according to eyewitness accounts reported by the Liverpool Echo. All the vehicles except one were believed to be stationary at the time.

Eyewitnesses said they spotted Etim running in and out of traffic and throwing himself against the windscreens of several vehicles, leaving him bloodied.

Police eventually restrained him and he was taken to hospital where was placed His condition was described as serious.

Etim was a member of the Liverpool martial arts gym Team Kaobon, but it is believed that he has not fought professionally since winning his Bellator debut against Patrick Cenoble at Bellator 109 in November 2013.

He had 11 fights with the UFC between 2007 and 2013, winning six bouts in the world’s largest MMA promotion.
