Scary times ahead.
A former general has warned that Britain “has just two years” to prepare for World War 3, as tensions escalate with Russia and the USA.
General Sir Richard Shirreff’s warning comes after Donald Trump announced that the US will be withdrawing military aid from Ukraine and has threatened to invade NATO allies.
Due to the USA’s unreliability as an ally under Trump, the more exposed Europe is to a Russian invasion.
Shirreff believes that within two years, Russian tanks will roll across the borders of Estonia and Latvia.
Writing in the Daily Mail, he said: “Within four hours they are approaching the Estonian capital of Tallinn.
“The British-led Enhanced Forward Battle Group in Estonia puts up brief resistance but takes heavy losses before being overwhelmed and forced to withdraw.”
He added: “As well as Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, the US refuses to offer support.”
According to Shirreff, the war would not be contained to countries in Eastern Europe and Russia could potentially fire missiles at RAF bases in England and other countries.
Shireff predicts that former boxer and current mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, will replace Volodymyr Zelensky as President of Ukraine.
He then believes that Klitschko will fire nuclear missiles – developed in the next two years – at Russia, destroying a city and leading to an ultranationalist coup in Moscow and the secession of various “vassal republics in the far east and the Caucasus.”
He said: “Fiction this might be.
“Again, whether the West can survive depends on how well prepared we are.”
