'He asked me for my watch while having a gun pointed in my face'

Amir Khan has told how he had a "gun pointed in my face" during a robbery in east London. The former champion boxer was out with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, in Leyton, when he was confronted by two men who stole his £71,000 diamond-encrusted Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph timepiece. The 35-year-old tweeted about the ordeal on Monday, saying: "I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was a few steps behind me. 2 men ran to me, he asked for my watch while having a gun pointed in my face." The Olympic silver medallist continued: "The main thing is we're both fine." Police arrived and searched the area but the men had fled in a getaway car along High Road, Leyton around 9.15pm. Makhdoom, 30, later shared pictures of the watch including its serial number in a bid to “find out who’s done this”. https://twitter.com/amirkingkhan/status/1516165472428957705   In reply to Khan's tweet, fellow Olympic boxer, Anthony Fowler, said he was living "there until a few weeks ago, full of absolute scumbags, I couldn't leave the house without some form of confrontation". https://twitter.com/afowler06/status/1516179693124390913 Khan last fought in February when he was stopped by rival Kell Brook. At the time, Khan said the fight could be his last. Related links:
