'He asked me for my watch while having a gun pointed in my face'
Amir Khan has told how he had a "gun pointed in my face" during a robbery in east London.
The former champion boxer was out with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, in Leyton, when he was confronted by two men who stole his £71,000 diamond-encrusted Franck Muller Vanguard Chronograph timepiece.
The 35-year-old tweeted about the ordeal on Monday, saying: "I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was a few steps behind me. 2 men ran to me, he asked for my watch while having a gun pointed in my face."
The Olympic silver medallist continued: "The main thing is we're both fine."
Police arrived and searched the area but the men had fled in a getaway car along High Road, Leyton around 9.15pm.
Makhdoom, 30, later shared pictures of the watch including its serial number in a bid to “find out who’s done this”.

In reply to Khan's tweet, fellow Olympic boxer, Anthony Fowler, said he was living "there until a few weeks ago, full of absolute scumbags, I couldn't leave the house without some form of confrontation".
