Blue Peter in not being axed from TVs as the show is set to continue across multiple BBC channels.
It was reported earlier today by numerous reputable outlets that the show would be getting hooked from televisions and being put online only, however, this has since been proven untrue.
Unclarity was revealed when former presenter Simon Thomas said that the show will no longer be shown live on TV anymore.
He wrote on Instagram: "Apparently (I had no idea) today is the last ever LIVE Blue Peter on television. The show isn’t finishing, there is apparently going to be a show online; just not live on the TV anymore.
"The big bosses all knew what was happening, and those they did tell were told to keep it quiet. It’s a huge shock, and a number of the crew still have no idea what’s going on."
Other outlets such as The Mail claimed to have sources that has said the move had been "in the works for months".
However, it appears that much of the news was a misunderstanding.
A BBC spokesperson put the record straight and said: "Blue Peter won't just be available to view online, but will remain on the CBBC and BBC Two linear channels as well as the iPlayer and Sign Zone. The programme has been a mix of live and pre-recorded shows for decades and has transitioned to a pre-record model as viewing habits change."
Even the likes of Matt Baker was convinced by the post.
He commented under Thomas' post: "WHHHAATTT ?? Mate we had the most incredible time! The best memories and the end of the most magical energy and spirit to be shared across the Country at tea time X I feel very fortunate to have experienced and shared the feeling."
Well, fortunately for fans of the show everywhere, Blue Peter is here to stay!
