Maxine Klibingaitis, an Australian actress known for her roles in TV shows, Prisoner and Neighbours, died "suddenly" Monday.
She was 58.
Maxine is survived by her son Zane, reports TV Tonight
Partners in Crime, a Prisoner fan club, announced the news in a Facebook post.
It reads: "We regrettably announce that actress Maxine Klibingaitis has passed away.
"Maxine played the much-loved character of Bobbie Mitchell in Prisoner, Terri Inglis in Neighbours, and many other roles on Australian TV.
"Maxine was only 58. We send our sincere condolences to her son Zane and Maxine's family and friends. RIP Maxine."
Partners in Crime later clarified that Maxine's death was "sudden and unexpected" and that the post was authentic.
Maxine was in Prisoner from 1983 to 1985, and was in Neighbours for six months in 1985. Her character married the villainous, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis).
Her part ended when Terri took her own life - the first time a character on Ramsay Street had died by suicide.
Maxine appeared in a number of other Australian TV shows, including Home and Away, The Flying Doctors and All Together Now, throughout the 1990s and 2000s.
Her last public appearance was at a Prisoner reunion in Melbourne in 2019.
