Astonished reactions as American media pundit says we should ‘stop dissing Putin’

Pundits on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored show struggled to hide their horror after an American media pundit seemingly tried to defend Vladimir Putin’s actions in Ukraine.

Russian forces launched a missile attack on the Kyiv area for the first time in weeks yesterday and pounded the northern Chernihiv region as well.

Six missiles launched from the Black Sea hit a military unit in the village of Liutizh on the outskirts of the capital, according to Oleksii Hromov, a senior official with Ukraine’s General Staff.

Fifteen people were wounded in the Russian strikes, five of them civilians, with the attack believed to be a response to Ukraine’s Day of Statehood, a commemoration that President Volodymyr Zelensky instituted last year in defiance of Russian threats to the country’s sovereignty.

Discussing the issue on Piers Morgan Uncensored, American media pundit Ann Coulter showed little appetite for condemning the attacks.

“We have just so dissed the Russians for such a long time,” she said, adding that “once the Soviet Union fell there was no point to NATO.”

Coulter went on to point out that “The Ukraine was historically part of the Russian Empire of influence” and asked why Americans “should care about this” to increasingly bemused reactions.

She also said “you can’t compare everything to Hitler” when Morgan pointed out that the Americans were forced to intervene when the last war of this scale raged in Europe.

Coulter is no stranger to controversy.

After the 9/11 bombings she called for war with Muslim countries and cited the afformentioned World War II atrocities in Germany.

“We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity. We weren’t punctilious about locating and punishing only Hitler and his top officers. We carpet-bombed German cities; we killed civilians. That’s war. And this is war,” she said.
