‘They gave me some direct feedback, which I’ve taken on board.’

Ange Postecoglou was involved in an angry confrontation with some Tottenham fans after his side’s 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.

Spurs fell to a disappointing defeat the the Vitality Stadium on Thursday night, which was their sixth league defeat of the season and a result that leaves them 10th in the league.

It also means that after the incredible 4-0 win at Manchester City, the North London side have gone three games without a win in all competitions.

After the final whistle, there were angry scenes amongst Spurs fans as the players and manager went over to thank them for their support.

At one point, Postecoglou pointed at one of the fans, and exchanged words with them, seemingly telling the supporter in question to calm down.

As more angry words came his way from supporters, the Australian coach then pointed at himself before giving a thumbs up to supporters and walking away as steward defused the situation.

In his post-match press conference, Postecoglou was asked about the confrontation with the fans.

He told reporters that he “didn’t like what was being said” by some of the supporters, but that “you’ve got to cop it.”

He said: “”They’re disappointed and rightly so. They gave me some direct feedback, which I’ve taken on board.

“I didn’t like what was being said because I’m a human being but you’ve got to cop it.

“I’ve been around long enough to know that when things don’t go well you’ve got to understand the frustration and disappointment. And they’re rightly disappointed because we let a game of football get away from us. But that’s OK. I’m OK with all that.

“All I can say is I’m really disappointed and I’m determined to get it right and will keep fighting until we do.”

Postecoglou added: “It comes down to us as a collective being a lot more determined to control a game of football and not let the opposition take control.”

Spurs’ only win in their last six games came at the Etihad Stadium last month. Since that remarkable result at the reigning Premier League champions, they have been held to draws at home to Roma and Fulham, before the loss at Bournemouth.
