Amber Heard has revealed that her role in Aquaman 2 is relatively diminished despite fighting “really hard” to stay a part of it.

Johnny Depp’s 50-million-dollar lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard has continued this week, with the 36-year-old actress taking the stand once more. She is also countersuing for $100m.

One shocking revelation came as Heard talked about Aquaman 2, which 4 million people have called for her removal from through a Change.org petition.

“I fought really hard to stay in the movie. They didn’t want to include me in the film,” Heard told the court on Monday, April 16.

While Heard is still portraying Atlantean princess Mera, she admitted to performing “a very pared-down version of that role.”

“I was given a script and then given new versions of the script that had taken away scenes that had action in it that depicted my character and another character — without giving any spoilers away — two characters fighting with one another,” she said. “They basically took a bunch out of my role. They just removed a bunch out.”

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is directed by James Wan and was initially slated for a December 2022 release but has since been pushed back to March 17, 2023.

While Heard has admitted to a reduced role, which journalist Grace Randolph said was as little as 10 minutes, producer Peter Safran had previously rebuked ideas of removing Heard.

“I don’t think that we’re ever going to react to, honestly, to just pure fan pressure,” he told Deadline. “Because, you know, you’ve gotta do what you feel is best for the movie.”

He added: “We felt that if it’s James Wan and Jason Momoa, it should be Amber Heard. And that’s really what it was.”
