The Girl Aloud singer revealed the news in an extract from her new book Hear Me Out
Sarah Harding has described the news that the tumours in her brain and lungs had shrunk as a 'little victory.' However she admitted that at this stage she still doesn't know exactly what this means for her.
In the extract released by the Daily Star, she wrote: "MRI scans at the end of December revealed that the tumours in my brain and in my lung have shrunk a bit with the treatment.
"I don't know exactly what this means for me, but at least I know it's moving in the right direction, and right now, every little victory feels momentous."
The 39-year-old had announced in August last year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer, which had sadly spread to other parts of her body. She has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment and it does appear that it has been helping to relieve some of her symptoms.
The positive news comes just a few days after the Girls Aloud star revealed, in another excerpt of her book that was released, that doctors had told her that last Christmas was likely to be her last.
She wrote: “In December my doctor told me that the upcoming Christmas would probably be my last.
“I don’t want an exact prognosis. I don’t know why anyone would want that. Comfort and being as pain-free as possible is what’s important to me now.”
The singer's autobiography Hear Me Out comes out on March 18.
