Liam Gallagher hits back as Fontaines DC slam Oasis reunion

The Oasis frontman has been characteristically vocal using X (formerly Twitter) as his platform of choice to comment on everything from topical music matters to fans asking what his favourite Disney film is - he said Frozen.

Since Oasis announced their reunion tour back in August, the band has gripped the nation with millions of fans worldwide spinning the Oasis mania fanfare that has put the Gallagher brothers firmly back in the limelight.

However, not everyone is so excited about the brothers' return, notably Irish rock band Fontaines D.C. who, despite many people tipping them to support the Manchester band when they visit Ireland, don't care one bit.

Members of the chart-topping band, Carlos O’Connell and Conor Deegan III were very frank when asked by Studio Brussel what they thought of the comeback.

Carlos simply said: “I couldn’t really give a s**t, to be honest."

Meanwhile Conor added: “I’m not excited about it either, to be honest. I feel like we get caught in the last era – like the ’10s – and into such a nostalgic thing that we’re forgetting to make new things.

"I feel like what we were wanting to do with this record [‘Romance’] anyway was to look into the future and make new things… So for Oasis to reform at this moment for us is really annoying.”

These comments really got Liam going, and although sometimes it's hard to see the line between his annoyance and strange humour, the singer appeared to be genuinely angered.

He wrote on X: "F**k them little sp**kbubbles I’ve seen better-dressed ROADIES.”

He followed up later with another post reading: “They look like a s**t EMF."

He finished with a simple: “State of em."

Following on from the 51-year-old's outburst, it was the frontman of Fontaines D.C., Grian Chatten who defied the rest of the band as he commented on a post by NME.

Chatten said: "I love Oasis. This is not my opinion."

Oasis have been the centre of attention in the UK for the past month now as they went from being rumoured to get back together, to making the announcement official, to releasing tickets and selling out and finally to being accused of exploiting fans with dynamic ticket pricing.

The ticket price surge created a whole new controversy that led to indifferent comments, apologies as well as Oasis hitting back at Ticketmaster.

A government inquiry is underway.
