French Montana and Drake recruit army of celebrities for latest music video

Apparently they don’t need a stylist

French Montana has today released a new music video to accompany his latest single “No Stylist”, featuring Drake.

Bridging the gap between music and fashion, in French’s latest set of visuals an army of celebrities and tastemakers come on board to stunt in the latest (and some classic) garms.

Aside from of course Drake, the video, which was shot in the Bronx, New York, sees appearances from the original fashion don A$AP Rocky, as well as Young Thug, Dapper Dan, Cam’ron and acting newcomer Luka Sabbat (Grown-ish).

One other notable guest appearance in the video for “No Stylist” is Slick Rick. The man of a thousand chains, Rick, who is originally from Britain, enjoys a ride in a vintage Paid in Full Mercedes Benz in front of a rolling green screen.

Funny yet still fashionable, the conceptual video is a true reflection of French’s unstoppable vision directed by Glenn Michael and Christo.

“We went to the Bronx and we shot the video, it has Slick Rick and the old school car with the Louis Vuitton seats and the Gucci seats. We had Cam’ron,” French told Zane Lowe on Beats 1. “Dapper Dan, when he used to have his boutique, people used to go to him because he knew how to put certain looks together that they couldn’t even do for these big brands.”

“No Stylist” isn’t just a record about who’s got the biggest clout in the best dressed stakes, it also plays host to Drake taking a shot at Kanye West. During his verse he raps, “Keep it a G, I told her don’t wear no 350s ’round me.” Which we all know is Drizzy referencing Kanye’s Adidas sneakers, the Yeezy 350s.

Coming off of the back of the success of last year’s summer smash “Unforgettable” and Jungle Rules – the album that followed – according to an interview he did with Billboard, French is in no rush to drop his next album as he wants to “make sure this one gets the respect it deserves.”
