For the past 12 years, Britney Spears' personal and financial affairs have been taken out of her hands and dealt with by legally appointed guardians.
This decision was the result of the singer's much publicised mental health issues, many of which played out in front of paparazzi cameras, and which led to her estate being controlled through conservatorship.
Some fans have long had concerns about the wellbeing of Spears, and the recent announcement by Kanye West - who himself had much-publicised mental health issues - has increased speculation on Britney's situation.
This has led to the hashtag trending, as well as widespread conspiracies about her not being able to vote or leave her home.
