Boyzone bow out with new single co-written by Gary Barlow

Will Lavin

The Boyz are back in town for their last goodbye

For their last hurrah before sailing off into retirement – something they announced back in June – Boyzone have announced their final album and subsequent farewell tour, and today they’ve revealed their new single “Love”.

Following recent singles “Because” (co-written by Ed Sheeran) and “Dream”, which is a heartfelt tribute to former band member Stephen Gately), “Love” is Boyzone’s new single and it’s written by another boyband legend, Take That’s Gary Barlow.

The press release for the new single reads:

“Emotional and nostalgic yet brimming with positivity for a brighter future, ‘Love’ represents all of Boyzone’s finest traits in one immediately affective anthem. As the boys’ harmonies build to a powerful crescendo, it’s the perfect song to capture a special moment in their journey together. The song was produced and co-written by John Shanks (Take That, Westlife).”

Boyzone fans everywhere will love the sentiment and passion in this huge song and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” said the band.

Pre-order Boyzone’s final album, Thank You & Goodnighthere.
