Would somebody please give Britain’s loneliest dog a home immediately?

You know that old saying about a face only a mother could love?

That saying does not ring true in the case of Freya the Staffordshire bull terrier, surely the most adorable dog ever to be ignored by seemingly everyone. Her Facebook page has over 1,000 followers, but at six years-of-age she's spent her entire life in kennels - and has been rejected by 18,720 visitors. Freya was taken in as a stray by Freshfields Animal Centre in Liverpool when she was six months old, and nobody has since come forward to give her a home. Staff at the home are as bemused as any dog lover will be reading this as to why they can't find her an owner. In a story originally reported by Metro, deputy kennel manager, Kate Jones said: "She has been here many years now and is constantly overlooked, which breaks our hearts as we adore her. We do not understand why she has been overlooked for so long. "Every year we update her age on the website and it absolutely breaks our hearts to see her getting older and has never had a home. She is a beautiful girl, so loving and friendly. She is our big baby." All they really want is for someone to take a chance on her, even if it's inevitable that her tough start in life might make it difficult for her to settle initially. To make things even more tricky for the poor Staffie she's recently been diagnosed with epilepsy, a condition that requires three-monthly blood tests and regular medication. Still, Freya's enjoyed a bit of a publicity boost recently and it was revealed this week on her Facebook page that Good Morning Britain will be featuring her story on its programme.
