A woman bought one of an artist's most expensive pieces of work so she could smash it in front of him.
In a viral clip shared online, the woman confronts Brazilian artist Romero Britto after purchasing the colourful sculpture.
According to Le Parisien, the woman told Britto “I am the owner of the Tapelia restaurant, which is opposite your store.
"My husband came to buy me this piece of art for my birthday, because I put you on a pedestal and admired you as an artist. I thought you were a respectable man, but I was wrong"
Britto then offered to sign the sculpture, which was worth "several thousand dollars."
But the women said: “No, I don’t need you to sign anything."
She claimed that he made a "reservation for 20 people for breakfast", with the restaurant charging them "eight dollars for person which is a bargain."
But the woman then alleged that the artist "dared to ask for a discount," reports.
She continued: "You humiliated my staff and complained about my music. You told my staff not to talk to you or you wouldn't go.
"You didn't want them to look at you in the face that was humiliating.
She then smashed the piece of art on the floor, adding: ""So I demand... you never come to my restaurant again and insult my staff."
Reacting to the clip, one person wrote: "She owned the artwork, which was a gift from her husband, and she smashed it in front of him after he was rude to her wait staff. It was hers to smash."
Another said: "His facial expressions are fascinating. It's like he's simultaneously ashamed, amused, and impressed by the woman screaming at him."
A third wrote: "Mad respect for the lady who sacrificed personal wealth to make a stand for her employees."
