We've all been there - down to one bar of battery and about to embark on a long journey or head out for dinner and a few drinks.

What can you do? Take the charger with you and try to find a table with a plug socket? Keep turning your mobile off after checking it to desperately save power? The unthinkable: Leave it at home!? Thankfully, those times of panic could now be behind us after scientists in California developed a new phone battery that charges in a minute. Cheering Minions On top of that, the new power cell is safer than existing batteries, with lead researcher Hongjie Dai telling Sky News: "Our new battery won't catch fire, even if you drill through it. Lithium batteries can go off in an unpredictable manner - in the air, the car or in your pocket." The only question JOE would like to ask is: Who the hell would drill through their phone battery?
