Normally, it goes without saying that you should keep your car windows up when visiting a safari park.

And while the chances of getting ripped limb from limb by a giraffe might appear incredibly slim, the video of an incident which occurred at West Midland Safari Park has shown why it's not the brightest of ideas. A giraffe can be seen bowing its head into the open window of a silver car in the footage, which was recorded from another vehicle. Panicking, one of the passengers decides to wind the window up, trapping the giraffe's head momentarily. After a second or two, the window's glass shatters, and the animal appears to flee. The giraffe, named Strider, was not hurt in the incident after being checked over by staff.
