Video: Poperoni? Pope Francis gets presented with a pizza

Pope Francis was presented with a delicious-looking pizza when he took his pope-mobile through the streets of Naples.

Earlier in March, whilst in Mexico, Pope Francis told a TV interviewer that he missed being able to pop out for a slice - something he hadn’t been able to do since he took the top spot at the Vatican and became the leader of 1.2 billion Catholics.

Step forward the wily staff at Don Ernesto’s pizzeria, who decided ‘Il Papa’ needed some cheesey goodness back in his life.

The crew put together a pizza fit for a pontiff when they heard Francis was to roll through town, and pizza-maker Enzo Cacialli was successful in his bid to present His Holiness with their offering - as the video below shows.
