But then again, the whole process would be so much easier for you if your match took the initiative and sent you a message first. That would free up your mind to concentrate on other things...
Dr. Jess Carbino, Tinder's in-house sociologist, recently spoke to Business Insider about ways to make yourself more successful on the dating app.
She suggested that many men didn't know what to say when they matched with a woman. We're calling this virtual dry mouth. They want to talk but they just can't get the words out.
One way Carbino thinks will improve your chances of getting a match is to make your profile more conversation friendly, by putting a question into your bio about an area or subject that interests you.
For example, if you're into art, ask a question in your bio about who their favourite artists is. Or to put it in the most basic British terms, ask: "Tetley's or PG Tips?"
Carbon said: "A lot of individuals need to have fodder to make conversation. It's very difficult for people sometimes to put themselves forward and try to make that first move."
Basically, come across as approachable, and give potential matches a hook to strike up a conversation with you.
If you have one of these jobs, it's probably a help.
