If you believe everything you read, you'd be forgiven for thinking everyone else is at it like rabbits while you're tucked up next to your other half with a book and a nice cup of tea.

In reality, however, the average amount of time most couples spend between the sheets is significantly lower than we imagine. In fact, a new survey by Mintel shows that only three per cent of respondents said they get down and dirty daily.   According to the data, collected from almost 2,000 British adults, one in five people said they had sex a few times per week. The numbers show that the average person will have sex 5,778 times in their lifetime, spending a fun 2,808 hours (or roughly 117 days) doing the deed. Better get a move on then...
