Rihanna’s ludicrous new sneakers are selling out all over the place

When we heard that Rihanna's latest sell-out FENTYxPUMA creation had landed we were more than intrigued.

They bear her name (the Barbadian's full title is Robyn Rihanna Fenty) so they should completely represent her very essence except in shoe form, right? In short, the Rihanna sneaker should be fun, iconic, stylish and enduring. Conversely, what we've been presented with appears to be some kind of joke, neatly wrapped in a big, pink, floppy satin ribbon.

An adult version of some kind of novelty children's shoe  is now available in for men and women in Pepto-Bismol pink and murky olive green, raises more questions than it answers; questions such as:

• Who will wear these sneakers?
• Why would they willingly do that?
• Is Rihanna okay?
• Is it us who's out of fashion and everyone else is totally cool with this?
