An Ofgem increase of 64 per cent is expected in October

Money-Saving Expert Martin Lewis has revealed that Prince Charles requested a briefing note on the cost of living crisis and how it is affecting his subjects. While collecting his CBE alongside other celebrities like diver Tom Daley and covid-adviser Sir Chris Whitty, Lewis spoke with the Royal about the country's dire financial troubles. Millions of Brits across the UK are grappling with rising energy bills and sky-rocketing inflation, with another Ofgem increase of 64 per cent set for October. And I think this is potentially more dangerous to lives than the pandemic," Martin said whilst at Windsor Castle. He added: "It is a cataclysmic problem that is going to face the country this winter. I am without embarrassment deliberately, provocatively, raising an alarm right now. And I will do that with everyone. I am raising an alarm over catastrophic energy bills this winter and the Prince of Wales did ask me to send him a briefing note on the new scale of the energy bills crisis (which I of course will happily do)..."
