A KFC wine bar is coming to London this August bank holiday.
The fried chicken giant is teaming up with French winemaker, La Vieille Ferme, for a pop-up called Coq au Vin.
The pop/up will be running from 28 to 31 August at Kachette Annex in Shoreditch, Metro reports.
La Vieille Ferme, nicknamed 'Chicken Wine' thanks to the rooster on its label, has become a viral sensation, selling 14 million bottles of rosé in the UK last year.
KFC, meanwhile, holds roughly a 65 per cent share of the UK fried chicken market across more than 1,000 branches.
The winemaker is even bringing back its Chicken Wine label exclusively for the event. It follows a summer of fast-food stunts, including Subway's UK ranch sauce launch.
KFC says the pairings will 'challenge everything you thought you knew about wine pairings': popcorn chicken with sparkling rosé, hot wings with La Vieille Ferme Rouge, and Original Recipe tenders.
Unorthodox, perhaps, but Britain has form for unlikely pairings, as anyone who has read how curry sauce became king of the chip shop will know.
"We're iconic fried chicken. They're the iconic Chicken Wine. Coq au Vin is one of those partnerships that just makes sense.
"Frankly, we can't believe it's taken this long. This August bank holiday, it's poulet all day!" said Phoebe Syms, fame and partnerships lead at KFC UK and Ireland.
The pop-up runs across all four days of the bank holiday weekend, expect buckets and bottles to be in high demand.
