The charity shared an emotional message to the dog's former owner

A dog was tragically abandoned on the street, left only with a bag of toys and a devastating note from her former owner. The poor pooch, who goes by the name Baby Girl, was tied to a fire hydrant in Green Bay, Wisconsin - though she was thankfully rescued by Wisconsin Humane Society, The Mirror reports. While the rescue team decided not to share all the details that were included in the owner's note, they did explain how she was not able to look after Baby Girl as a result of both the dog and the owner's health problems. It’s evident just how much you loved her and we can see you did your best while struggling with your own medical complications and challenges of life. "We see your love in the bag you carefully packed with all of her favourite things. We see your love in the way you secured her leash so she wouldn’t get hit by a car. We see your love in the way you placed her in the middle of a neighbourhood where she’d be quickly found. "We see your love in how happy and healthy Baby Girl looks. And we see your love in the note you left, pleading for someone to help her when you no longer could. "While we’ll never let fees be a barrier and we welcome anonymous surrenders, we see that you did what you thought was best for your beloved pup and we are grateful for your compassion. Rest assured that she’s safe, she’s getting tons of attention from our team, and she’s on track to find her next loving family very soon. "We wish you all the best and hope that if you see this, you can rest a little easier knowing your Baby Girl has a bright future ahead." [caption id="attachment_339417" align="alignnone" width="2048"] Baby Girl was diagnosed with diabetes (Photo: Wisconsin Humane Society)[/caption] Following a medical check-up, it became clear Baby Girl had diabetes mellitus, which can cause elevated blood sugar in dogs. A spokeswoman for the Humane Society said this can be an "expensive disease to manage". The dog now needs a restricted diet, daily glucose monitoring and insulin injections at home, which require monthly purchases of medical supplies - potentially costing hundreds of dollars each month, the spokeswoman said. Calls to help the dog came pouring in and Baby Girl found a new home just days after being taken in by the charity. The international response to the dog's story has also been "overwhelming," the spokeswoman said.
