Daylight savings...

The time is once again changing this weekend, but unfortunately it's not the cool, hip change which leaves you with an extra hour of sleep, it's the other, far less fun, time going forward. Yes, the clocks will go forward one hour this weekend and we will all have one less hour in bed/the pub. The clocks will go forward one hour at 1am on Sunday, March 26. The funny thing about this is the fact that the clocks go forward and back every year but they always seem to confuse the crap out of everyone. You probably don't have to worry about updating the time on your smartphone as the vast majority of phones will do so automatically, but just to be sure, you can go to: Settings > Time & Date> and make sure the automatic date & time feature is enabled.

So when does the time go back again?

It will be Sunday, October 29 at 2am before the clocks go backwards again. Daylight savings is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months by one hour, so that evening daylight lasts an hour longer, while sacrificing normal sunrise times. So in advance of the change on Sunday, you should set a reminder to change all the clocks and electrical devices in your house to the correct time.
