The story goes that when she was a child, Vanga was blinded after being picked up by a freak tornado. After losing her sight she became aware of a rare gift from God that enabled her to see into the future, and went on to make hundreds of predictions that stretch thousands of years into the future.
Her visions are said to be 85% correct and include the Chernobyl tragedy, the death of Princess Diana and the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Mirror reports.
She is also credited with predicting the 9/11 attacks, by saying in 1989 that "American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds," and Brexit, saying that Europe would "cease to exist by 2016."
She left behind predictions that run all the way through to 5079.
Among her other predictions that lie in wait for us in the near future are that the Earth's orbit will change in 2023, astronauts will travel to Venus in 2028, Muslims will rule Europe in 2043 and the universe will come to an end in 5079.
