Ungrateful newlyweds write to wedding guests to ask for more money as a gift

Their gift wasn't generous enough apparently.

Could you imagine receiving this note?

A wedding guest was shocked to have received a note from newlyweds thanking them for their attendance, but claiming that the present they gave wasn’t sufficient.

A user on Mumsnet wrote into the forum to ask for advice about their awkward situation, explaining that they had given a cheque for £100 as a wedding gift – an amount they thought was more than enough.

But they then received an email suggesting they should give more money.

“We were surprised that your contribution didn’t seem to match the warmth of your good wishes on our big day,” the message read. “In view of your own position, if you wanted to send any adjustment it would be thankfully received.”

Naturally, people are agreeing with them that it was an inappropriate email to send.

If it were us, that cheque would be cancelled pronto. Ungrateful sods!
