This amazing Chinese App takes selfies to the next level

The cult of the selfie shows no signs of abating. But a new app from China takes the whole phenomenon to a weird new level...

The app (downloadable here) allows you to turn your selfie into a singing, dancing avatar/doll. As we have a part-time model in the shape of Matt Stanger in the office, we volunteered him to be our guinea pig... Although the app is completely in Chinese, the instructions are pretty self-explanatory. You take a selfie, align your face to the parameters, and the fancy tech does the rest... Once your image has been scanned, you can give yourself all sorts of weird and wonderful outfits and hairstyles, as shown here on the uncannily true-to-life images of the handsome Mr/Ms Stanger... Your electronic mannequin can sing and dance and enact all sorts of poses that range from cool to really quite sinister. If you get stuck, there's a simple English guide available here.
