This footage of an attempted robbery is unintentional comedy gold

The events that unfolded at the local Reddi-Mart are truly deserving of the Benny Hill music

The definition of the term clusterf**k.

To begin with, we’re delighted to see the local authorities swiftly apprehending two people that were suspected of trying to use stolen credit cards in Edmonton, Canada.

Good for them, protecting and serving. Great bunch of lads.

This being said, the events that unfolded at the local Reddi-Mart are truly deserving of the Benny Hill music because this is just a comedy of criminal errors.

As you can see below, what unfolds is 2 minutes and 34 seconds of unintentional comedy gold that involves theft, chasing, tasering, sweets being thrown, climbing and well, falling.

Falling spectacularly we should say.

Watch the whole thing because it really pays off at the 2:00 mark.

In their report, the police correctly said the man in this video tried to flee the scene after pushing the woman at an officer.

As for the fallout – pardon the pun – the man in the video, Richard Pariseau, was charged with 11 offences.

These include using a stolen credit card, resisting arrest, resisting arrest from someone aiding the police (store owner), assaulting a police officer, attempting to disarm a police officer, possession of stolen property under $5000, and breaching probation.

Brittany Burke, 29, was charged with obstructing a police officer, failure to comply with undertaking and mischief under $5,000.
