Ryanair announces some VERY handy changes coming soon

JOE

Automatic check-in, simpler baggage options and more leg room? Yes please.

As part of its ‘Always Getting Better’ campaign, Ryanair has announced some pretty exciting changes in the customer service department, including new business and leisure packages, easier baggage options and “one flick” payment systems.

The airline is in year three of the initiative, and has said that the first two years have been a success, with their load factor rising from 81% to 92% since the start of the programme.

The airline’s chief marketing officer Kenny Jacobs said:

“The continued drive to improve our customer experience has been reflected in the record passenger numbers and load factors we have had over the past two years, and we are pleased to launch Year 3 of our “Always Getting Better” programme.

“While Year 1 and 2 were about fixing the areas customers didn’t like and improving the existing offering, Year 3 will be about digital acceleration and innovation.”

The new Leisure Plus bundle fare is suitable for “well-heeled leisure travellers” and includes reserved seats, priority boarding and a 20 kg bag.

The Business Plus service offer more flexible ticketing, more fast-track airports and auto check-in. Both packages will be introduced from July 16.

A ‘My Ryanair Club’  offers 24-hour priority access to seat sales, and a top-up facility which will allow customers to top up the accounts of friends or family as gifts.

The programme has seen the airline become a major contender for Number One UK Airline this year, with CEO Michael O’ Leary remarking:

“If I’d known being nice to customers would have been so good for business, I would have done it years ago,”

We could have told him that a long time ago.
