A popular pub chain is giving away free pints to punters who share a surname with any of the 23 members of the England women’s squad for the 2022 Euros.
The tournament kicked off on Wednesday as England recorded their first win over Austria at Old Trafford in front of 68,871 fans.
The Lionesses will face Norway on Monday before facing Northern Ireland the following Friday.
As a way of showing their support for the Lionesses, and to raise the profile of each individual player, Greene King is giving a free pint or bottle of Ice Breaker Pale Ale or a soft drink alternative to any customer who shares a surname with a member of the England Women’s football team.
To bag your free boozy beverage all you need to do is show the barman their ID during a live Euros England group game.
Every England Women’s group stage match will be aired live in many Greene King-managed sports pubs.
Chris Conchie, Head of Marketing for Greene King sport, said: “Despite the fact that the Women’s Euros tournament grows in popularity each year, there is still a massive lack of awareness and support for the individuals who make up our incredible team.

Customers will be able to claim the offer across 810 participating pubs (excluding Scotland) while each of the three live England Women’s Euro group stage matches are being aired.
