A group of men in Australia have been videoed rating passing female joggers on clipboards.

One of the men later claimed to be a “feminist” after being confronted by a woman who captured the footage in Perth, Western Australia.

A woman, identified in media reports only as Elizabeth, spotted the men yelling and whistling as she ran along a beach in Scarborough on Saturday.

The men, who were sitting on deck chaits, were rating women out of 10 and displaying their scores on clipboards.

“It took me a second to realise they were actually rating me and other women who ran by out of 10,” she told ABC news.

“I stewed on it for the rest of the run because I didn’t really take it all in at the time.”

Elizabeth told the broadcaster her shock at the men’s behavior, soon turned to anger as she continued her run.

“When you see something like that, that makes you feel small and scared, you sort of want to laugh it off to make everyone feel comfortable, but then I got angrier and angrier as I ran along,” she said.

“Then on the way back, I decided I wasn’t going to stand for that and so I decided to say something.”

Elizabeth told ABC that said thought about her friends, sisters, and other women that may change running routes or might never run again because of the men’s behaviour.

“Something that people may perceive as a harmless joke can have long-term damaging effects on women and their confidence,” she explained.

Elizabeth later confronted the men in footage that has since gone viral. With her phone recording, Elizabeth can be heard asking the men: “Do you know how uncomfortable that makes people feel?” Before asking if their “workplaces and families mind sexists”.

In the footage, one man can be seen hiding his face behind his whiteboard. Another whoops ‘yeah the boys’, pumps his arms in the air and then calls himself a “feminist”.

Several women have since shared their own experiences on social media of similar incidents in both Scarborough and another beachside suburb of Cottesloe, 7News reported.

Podcaster Abbie Chatfield is among those who have slammed the video, saying it was “disgusting and gross” to rank women as they walked past. “We are again asking, where do men find the audacity?.”

The men in the video have not been publicly identified.
