NHS staff will get free Uber rides over this Christmas season

A lovely gesture

Rich Cooper

For most of us, Christmas means putting our feet up, stuffing our bellies and generally chilling out.

But for thousands of NHS staff, Christmas is just another day at work, spent taking care of us and saving lives. In recognition of this, Uber are giving NHS staff free rides over the festive period.

Transport services are often majorly reduced over Christmas, so this will be a massive help to NHS staff who need to get to work and back home to their loved ones for their own Christmas.

They way it works is simple: NHS staff can go to uber.com/nhs, enter their NHS email, and on Friday they’ll be sent a £10 promo code for two journeys, valid between 6pm on Dec 24th and 11.59pm on Dec 26th.

It’s a brilliant gesture and one that will no doubt come in handy for staff struggling to get to work.

Uber UK Acting General Manager Tom Elvidge said of the : “Thousands of NHS workers will be taking care of others over Christmas so we’d like to take care of their travel.

“Getting around can be tricky during the holidays so we hope this offer will help hard working NHS staff get to work and then back to their loved ones as quickly as possible.”

If you or a loved one is working in the NHS over the Christmas period, be sure to let them know about this.
