The bloke with the 'world’s smallest penis' has opened up

Michael Phillips says he believes he has the smallest penis in the world, and that he is speaking about it in order to help others who have the same bad luck.

In fact, he says he waited for a change in size that in fact never happened.

The man from North Carolina says he realized he was “smaller than average” in childhood but his condition, that of having a micro penis, hasn’t sunk in yet.

“I’m still not sure that I have yet fully come to terms with having a micro penis,” he confessed.

But he sees the funny side of it, at least.

“It wasn’t until joking about being a Guinness World Record holder that I realised I might actually have the world’s smallest. If I could go for it, I would – I think it could help bring more awareness," he told IGV.

He says that humour is the “way he deals with pretty much anything.”

According to him, the response has been overwhelmingly kind once he spoke more openly about his condition on Instagram.

And if you share the same condition as him, Michael might make you feel more self-confident as he says that men are obsessed with size and unrealistic standards and almost no representation of those who don’t fit them.

“There really isn’t very much representation for small sizes in media and almost zero mention of micro penis being portrayed as being a real medical condition and not a slang joke term," he added.

Healthline says that the average size for an adult flaccid penis is 3.61 inches (9.17cm) and 5.16 inches (13.1cm) for an erect one.

But Michael says his penis measured under one inch.

He was even laughed at once when a girl in school saw his manhood - an incident that made put him off dating.

“I think the biggest misconception is that if a guy has a small penis, he just has a small penis, and not that there may be a medical thing going on. More people need to be aware that there is a medical condition called micro penis," he added.

“The biggest challenges I’ve faced [are] having a sexual relationship and still being a virgin and being able to talk about it openly because of how embarrassing of a topic it is”, Michael says.

According to medical experts, a micro penis is an atypical small penis.

It is caused by a deficiency of fetal testosterone, and growth can sometimes be stimulated through early hormonal treatment. Definitions can vary, however a micro penis is considered one that is under three inches.
