Making this one small change could get you way more matches on Tinder

Carl Kinsella

It’s all about how you dress.

We don’t mean fancy clothes from expensive shops with Italian names, we just mean something a little bit brighter might do the trick.

A study conducted by Mashable has revealed that men are extremely prone to wearing basic, neutral colours in their Tinder photos. Three-out-of-four men opt for neutral colours like black, white and grey.

While 50 shades of grey appears to work for that handsome guy in that movie and whips and what have you, sociologists suggest it doesn’t work as well for your average Joe McTinder.

“A profile photo provides an important glimpse into an individual’s personality,” Dr. Jessica Carbino, a sociologist for Tinder, told Mashable.

“Individuals are choosing to signal certain elements of their personality through their clothing choices, such as a decision to wear shorts and a t-shirt versus a suit and tie.

“While the type of clothing an individual wears is not directly associated with being liked or not, clothing is one factor in creating the portrait of who a person is.”

So there you have it. It could be time to break out that electric pink polo shirt, take some selfies, and watch the matches roll in.
