The Louvre Museum in Paris is turning into an Airbnb for one night only

Rory Cashin

Why not pretend to be Beyoncé and Jay-Z for the night?

How would you like to spend the night with Mona Lisa?

And yes, we do mean that pretty much literally.

The iconic Louvre museum in Paris have teamed up with Airbnb to give two lucky people the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend the night there, surrounded by priceless art, under that beautiful glass pyramid.

It will be the first time ever that the museum has allowed guests to stay over, and it is all in celebration of the Louvre’s iconic glass pyramid turning 30 years old on Tuesday 30 April.

Emmanuel Marill, the General Manager of Airbnb France, had the following to say about the incredible night:

“Paris is one of the most attractive cities in the world and the Louvre is one of the most loved and celebrated institutions in Paris. We are thrilled to partner with them and to offer exciting and unique experiences that will celebrate our community and welcome Parisians and international travellers to rediscover the museum in a new and authentic way.”

To be in with a chance of being the lucky Louvre layabouts, then all you need to do is head to the official website and fill out their form before 11 pm on Friday 12 April.

In the meantime, let us remind ourselves of the time The Carters made themselves at home in the world’s most famous museum:
