The future of TV has arrived with LG’s paper-thin OLED display that can be mounted on a wall with magnets.

The tech giant showed off the concept in South Korea on Tuesday, revealing a design less than 1mm thick and weighing only 4lbs.

“OLED represents a ground-breaking technology not only for the company, but also for the industry,” said the head of LG Display’s OLED business unit, Sang-Deog Yeo.

OLED stands for ‘organic light-emitting diode’, which emit light when electricity is applied. This removes the need for a TV backlight, hence allowing them to be vastly reduced in depth.

It could take another five to ten years for OLED TVs to reach the mass market, however, with LG now working on the product’s affordability.
