Team Selena have rallied around the actress

The alleged feud between Kylie Jenner and Selena Gomez has wiped close to 1 million followers from the account of the reality TV star, according to Social Blade data.

Businesswoman Jenner suffered an enormous blow to her follower count after she made a comment that many interpreted as an attack on the actress.

Gomez, meanwhile, has gained more than 10 million new Instagram followers thanks to the spat, making her the most followed woman on Instagram.

It all started when Jenner and Hailey Bieber – who is married to Gomez’s ex – were accused of throwing shade at Gomez after she uploaded an Insta Story of her ‘over-laminated eyebrows’.

The eyebrows turned out more dramatic than expected and Gomez joked that they hadn’t gone to plan.

Hours later, Jenner, posted a selfie with the text, “That was an accident?” placed over her eyebrows.

In the following story, Jenner posted a close-up picture of friend Hailey’s eyebrows, and in the corner of the story, another selfie of Jenner.

Hailey’s involvement led fans to believe that there was a feud between the model and the singer, again. Gossip accounts on TikTok theorised that the Kylie Cosmetics owner was making a dig at Gomez.

Jenner denied taking a shot at Gomez’s brows, writing, “This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly.”

Gomez joined in the debunking, commenting, “Agreed @kyliejenner. It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

But that didn’t stop Jenner’s social media following from dropping rapidly.

It initially dropped by 124,711 followers, Social Blade data observes, but she ended up losing almost one million followers on Instagram with a total loss topping in at a hefty 750,000 followers on Monday (27 February).
