In awe at the size of this lad. Absolute unit.

Yer da has been out sunbathing again, hasn’t he?

A “monster” fish almost two metres long and 150kg in weight has been discovered on a beach in Queensland, Australia, after a couple were taking a walk along the beach.

Unexpectedly, they came face to face with this beauty. Look at the size of this lad. Absolute unit.

John and Riley Lindholm found the demonic creature from hell at Moore Park Beach last Tuesday.

John, who has spent his entire life looking at fish and knowing what fish they are working as a charter skipper, didn’t know what fish it was. “I’ve seen a lot of fish, and a lot of big fish, but I’ve never seen anything like it,” Mr Lindholm said, not knowing what fish it was.

“I thought it might have been a groper, but looking at the head shape it still may be a groper, but it just doesn’t seem to fit with what other people up here have told me” he added, still not knowing what fish it was or if indeed it had groped someone.

That’s when things got interesting, as the notorious Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol (QBFP) stepped in and consulted with the big dogs at the Queensland Museum to identify the species.

Although, the “condition of the fish made a definitive identification difficult”, it did appear to be a Queensland groper, the QBFP said, not 100% certain what type of fish it was, but giving it a bloody good go anyway.

For me, it looks exactly like any time you go to take a photo on your phone and it switches to the front-facing camera unexpectedly. That’s always the face we’re pulling without realising. The fish is just one of us. RIP hellish fish monster. I will always remember you. Your spirit lives on every time I open snapchat.
