Without a doubt, one of things Snapchat users love most about the app is its self-destructing function.

Images can be sent with the user safe in the knowledge that they will expire after being seen once – or maybe a second time if you’re bothered to use the replay function.

For as long as the app has existed, people have tried to discover ways of preserving the messages they have been sent before they permanently vanish.

Although it may have seemed impossible, it now appears there is a way…

Whereas screengrabs will usually result in a notification being sent to the sender, according to The Sun, this method allows you to screengrab all you like without ever being detected.

Here’s how:

Step 1 – Open snapchat so the message is visible in your inbox, and then put your phone onto flight mode without leaving the app.

Step 2 – With the message still unopened, your device will now be disconnected.

Step 3 – Take a screenshot. In fact, take as many as you wish.

Step 4 – Close the app.

Step 5 – Deactivate flight mode.

It’s that simple. But remember, with great power comes great responsibility – and there are reports that you might be able to sue someone who screenshots a Snapchat message without your permission in the near future.

But until that time comes, try to keep in mind that sometimes private messages become public and be careful who you share your funny faces (and whatever else) with.
