Girl takes 82-year-old granddad to Britain’s rudest diner without telling him

Britain's rudest diner

He stands his ground in fairness

A grandad has gone viral on TikTok after his grandchildren took him for a surprise meal at Britain’s rudest diner, where customers are deliberately treated as badly as possible by staff.

In the viral clip, Ellie Coleman filmed her grandad throughout the meal at Karen’s Diner in Sheffield – except he thought he was being treated to a much more regular dining experience.

At one point in the video, staff tell him to “f***ing eat” his food and “I want you to f**k off.” He’s also pictured wearing a paper hat with “old b****ard” written on it.

It doesn’t get any kinder for the pensioner, as he is then treated to a rendition of “happy birthday f**k off.”

Unsurprisingly, he looks thoroughly bemused throughout the video, but never seems that intimidated by the treatment.

His review of the dining experience? “It’s not my scene.”

The clip has since racked up 4.4m views and more than 479,000 likes.

Many asked where it was the family had gone for this unique dining experience so that they could take unsuspecting family and friends there.

Others suggested that maybe the grandkids treat the 82-year-old to a slightly kinder meal next team.

In a follow-up video from Ellie, her grandad thanked everyone for the comments. He then provides his own sprinkling of Karen’s Diner charm by telling anyone who posted mean comments to “b****cks off.”

In case you hadn’t already worked it out, the dining experience at Karen’s Diner is a very deliberate one. Staff at the diner are instructed to be as rude as possible to customers, with customers also told to give it back to them as well.

It all acts as a way to let off some steam and provide what is for many a welcome relief from the over-politeness of everyday society.

The diner encourages customers to “live out you Karen dreams,” and you’ll even get a free drink if you’re actually called Karen.
