The product is named after the co-founders own pet.
Luxury Italian fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana have released a new dog perfume that is available for £85 a bottle.
‘Fefé’ is an opulent fragrance which boats notes of ylang ylang, musk and “creamy undertones” of sandalwood and will have your pooch smelling like a 1950’s Hollywood movie star.
The unique product is inspired by co-founder Domenico Dolce’s very own loyal companion – Fefé – and has been safety-tested and approved by vets.
The lavish-looking green bottle features a 24-carat gold-plated paw print along with an exclusive Dolce & Gabbana dog collar with a tag.
A 40-second promotional video posted to the brand’s Instagram shows a fluffy miniature poodle posing alongside the bottle, while a narrator says: “I am delicate, charismatic, authentic, sensitive, enigmatic, rebel, fresh, irresistible, clean. ‘Cause I’m not just a dog. I’m Fefé.”
The perfume has been developed by master perfumer Emilie Coppermann, who has spent over 20 years creating fragrances for some of the biggest designer houses like Givenchy, Chopard, and Karl Lagerfeld.
The real-life Fefé was originally adopted by Stefano Gabbana, who discovered that the miniature poodle puppy did not get along with his male cat.
Gabbana then gifted the pooch to Dolce, who instantly fell in love.
Speaking to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, Dolce explained the iconic name.
“It’s the diminutive of Raffaele, which means gift from God,” he said. “And I, as a good Catholic, considered that this dog really was a gift from God.”

While numerous other companies and pet grooming firms have developed dog perfumes at a much cheaper price, Fefé is believed to be the first time a big fashion house has released one.
Fefé is available online and in Dolce & Gabbana stores.
