Deliveroo has launched a booze delivery service in selected UK cities

We'll raise a glass to that.

Beer by bike: the future is here.

The food delivery startup Deliveroo has added alcohol to its service in the UK, which essentially means – providing you live or work in one of the locations covered – you can have a cold beverage in your hand within 20 minutes, without having to move a muscle.

The London-based company has partnered with Majestic wines and craft beer specialist BrewDog, as well as a number of independent businesses, who will process orders through the Deliveroo app in much the same way takeaway restaurants do at the moment. Drivers then collect the orders and deliver them to the customer by bike. You know the drill.

Majestic will deliver from eight stores in the capital, while 20 BrewDog bars across the country have been confirmed at launch. We’ve listed them all at the bottom of the article.

Deliveroo’s booze news comes just a month or so after Uber launched UberEATS, the taxi company’s own delivery service. There’s a lot of people vying to be the courier of your overly extravagant takeaway sprees now. At this rate you’ll never need to leave the sofa again.

Majestic Wines will deliver from: St John’s Wood, Guildford, Covent Garden, Battersea, Hove, Islington, Mayfair and Holland Park.

BrewDog will deliver from: Kings Cross, Shepherd’s Bush, Shoreditch, Clapham Soho, Clerkenwell, Camden, Cardiff, Brighton, Bristol Centre, Sheffield City Centre, Manchester Central, Birmingham City Centre, Newcastle City Centre, Norwich, Aberdeen, Glasgow’s Argyle Street, Old Town in Edinburgh and Liverpool City Centre.
