Dog theft is on the rise

A dog owner has issued a plea to help recover her two Labrador Retrievers, who were stolen outside a Marks and Spencer shop in Nantwich, Cheshire.

The incident was caught on CCTV, which the owner, Charlotte Robson, has shared as part of the Instagram post asking people for help (swipe across to the second slide).

“I can’t believe I am writing this… the boys have been STOLEN and we are asking for everyone’s help to get them back where they belong,” she wrote.

“They were taken from outside M&S in Nantwich, Cheshire this evening (27.03.21 @ 18.10pm) but we have no idea how far they have been taken so please share this far and wide. They have a blue collar and lead and a grey collar and lead. There is CCTV showing two men dragging them up the street.” (swipe to watch).

In a second post, Robson shared an update on the situation, saying there had been sightings of the two men with the dogs near the town’s church.

Robson said police were investigating the matter and thanked her followers for sharing the incident far and wide in a bid to find the two dogs.

“Thank you so much for all the exposure, information and support from everyone. We are obviously absolutely devastated and heart broken but we are getting some comfort that we have such an amazing community all across social media. We can only continue doing what we can to spread the word and hope that they are back with us at home safely and as soon as possible.

“We won’t stop searching and sharing until they are found. We will ask no questions if they are found and we are able to get them home safe and sound. A substantial reward will be offered to anyone that finds them or returns them to us.”
