Martin Grossman is the genius mind behind the Alien Egg.

Launched in 1999, Grossman says the idea just came to him one night as he was trying to fall asleep.

Christmas that same year, over 3 million toys had been sold.

Kids across the UK were sold on this instant hit, and rumours that the toy could give birth spread like wildfire.

The Alien Egg craze carried on well into the 21st century, with millions more sold in the years that followed.

Many have tried to solve the secret of the eggs...

Theories of how to make the aliens give birth have continued to live and die even in modern times.

One YouTuber tried to approach it scientifically, stating that adding sugar and salt to their chemical make-up was the solution.

The truth is that no one really knows if or how these guys can give birth... it's something us mere humans might never understand!
