A Burger King has taken aim at McDonald’s by dressing up as one for Halloween

Shots well and truly fired here.

Burger King and McDonald’s have often gone back and forth on social media, but one particular Burger King outlet has taken their playful rivalry to the next level for Halloween.

The restaurant, in Queens, New York, decided to get into the spirit of scary season by decking the building out in a ghost costume with the word “McDonald’s” spray-painted on the white sheets.

Sounds more like a tribute than a mockery, right? Wrong. Brace yourselves for that dig, because they also had a sign that read “Booooo! Just kidding. We still flame grill our burgers. HAPPY HALLOWE’EN.” How do you like that, Ronald?

This sign is a reference to the fact that McDonalds fry their burgers, whereas Burger King flame grill them. Burger King even went so far as to scribble “McDonald’s” on the boxes of burgers.

McDonald’s are yet to respond, but Twitter users have had their say on the prank, and they loved it.

This marketing ploy from the Burger King outlet in Queens has got people talking, and it will be interesting to see what kind of response McDonald’s is working on. At least they’ve already got a creepy clown on their side…
