2016 – a year when the people of Britain voted on the things that really mattered to them… like biscuits.
Yep, thanks to a survey conducted by YouGov, we now know which biscuit is the nation’s favourite.
Having consulted a sample of 1,662 Brits, the chocolate digestive has come out top of the pile, with 12% of those asked voting it as their biccy of choice.
The humble chocolate-less digestive is in second with 8%, ahead of the ginger biscuit and the bourbon which are tied for third with 7%. There is also disappointment for the hobnob, which narrowly misses out on the Champions League places with just 6% of the vote.

Biscuit fans will also note that custard creams finished in a disappointing sixth place (6%) while the chocolate hobnob is a pathetic ninth (4%).

We also learn more about the biscuit preferences of Britain’s different regions, too. For example, we now know that Londoners and Northerners are united in their dislike of malted milks and that Scottish people simply won’t entertain the idea of a savoury biscuit.
