10 entrepreneurs who were millionaires before their 21st birthday

Every time we see the lotto results announced, we wonder to ourselves, “what would it be like to be a millionaire?”

These people don’t have to wonder.

What’s even more impressive is that a good portion of these millionaires’ fortunes were made before they reached the milestone of 21.

We’re not jealous… much.

Here are 10 people who had made millions before they had the chance to blow out 21 candles.

Gary Martin

Martin is now 26, but by the time he was 17 he had his first million made.

The Derry man was running a nightclub when he was just 15 and, by the time he was 17, he had one of the largest property management portfolios in Ulster.

Madison Robinson

Do you know what Fish Flops are?

Well, neither do we, but we do know that Ms. Robinson made a million from her company that sells them. She was only 17 at the time too… now, that’s fishy.

Nick D’Aloisio

This British entrepreneur became famous by selling his corroboration app Summly to Yahoo for an estimated $30 million when he was just 17.

Adam Horowitz

When Horowitz was just 15 he developed an app called Mobile Monopoly.

This app gave users advice on mobile marketing and became a massive hit and he became very, very rich.

Patrick Collison

This Irish genius and his brother sold their company, Auctomatic, and became overnight millionaires. He was just 19.

John Collison

The younger of the two Collison brothers was 17 when they sold Auctomatic. Pretty impressive for someone who hadn’t even finished school at the time.

Fraser Doherty

Doherty started off making jams when he was in his early teens. By the time he was 20, his produce (SuperJam) was on the shelves of some of the biggest UK retailers and he owned a business making him a millionaire.

John Koon

Koon became a millionaire at the age of 16. He imported Asian car modifications to America and made an absolute fortune.

Mark Zuckerberg

What list of young entrepreneurial millionaires would be complete without Zuckerberg? A millionaire by the time he was 20 and a billionaire by the time he was 23.

Andrew Gower

Gower was a millionaire before he was 20 thanks to the wildly succesful ‘RunScape’ game. Now, well into his 30s, he continues to be one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the UK.

So there you have it, 10 people who made their fortune before they were old enough to legally rent a car.
