Our toes. Will not. Uncurl.
There was a time not so long ago when Ed Balls was most widely mocked for accidentally tweeting his own name from his personal Twitter account. Indeed, for many it was the only memorable aspect of the former MP's career.
It occurred back in 2011, when he meant to search his name on the social medium and made the schoolboy error. The resulting tweet was subsequently shared by thousands of people, and ever since April 28 has been 'Ed Balls Day'.
But he can finally rest assured that that will quickly fade in the eyes of many as his most cringeworthy moment...mainly because it has been well and truly usurped by his performances on Strictly Come Dancing.

If last week's cowboy show wasn't bad enough, he outdid himself this weekend with a bizarre and frankly cringe-inducing turn as Jim Carrey's The Mask. It was either comedy gold or a crime against humanity - we can't quite decide.
In fairness to Balls, he has proved a tremendous sport on the dancing show and won many fans over with his gung-ho displays. No one can accuse the former Shadow Chancellor of holding anything back...even if we sometimes wish he would.
As you can image, there was no shortage of viewers at home taking the piss...

But most of the cringe was reserved for his 'Somebody stop me!' line after the dance. We really would if we could, mate...
